Rust Alert

Yellow rust is breaking out in several varieties of winter wheat especially Robigus , Glasgow and Napier . Brown rust is becoming a problem as well especially in Robigus , Alchemy , Cordiale and Consort . Our preferred fungicide treatment is Amistar Opti + Opus + Tern and the mixture should be applied as soon as possible to stop the disease from developing , the conditions are conducive to rapid movement through its life cycle .


Grassland

We now have ideal conditions for control of thistles - Pastor + MCPA 2.5 L/ Ha of each to give best control of roots and shoots . Ragwort , is best controlled any time from the rosette stage - for specific advice please consult your Agrivice agronomist .


Nitrogen for Winter Wheat

The final dose of Nitrogen should be applied after this current period of rain .
